Application of NTC temperature sensor in electric vehicle motor

       The sensors used in electric vehicles mainly include the sensor to detect the temperature of the battery, the temperature sensor to monitor the motor, and the temperature sensor for the battery cooling system. Hybrid/electric vehicle batteries provide optimal energy output only at a precisely defined operating temperature, which requires reliable monitoring and regulation of the battery temperature to prevent overheating and maximize its operating life. Most current battery designs for electric vehicles use NTC temperature sensors to measure their temperature.

As a mechanical and electrical energy conversion equipment, motor plays an important role in national economy and daily life. In practice, it is necessary to pay attention to the temperature of the motor winding.

The temperature sensor arranged in the motor groove can directly monitor the winding temperature in the groove and grasp the accurate working condition of the motor. Among them, new energy vehicles mainly rely on the motor to drive, so the motor temperature sensor in all aspects of the performance has higher requirements.

Electric motors are another basic component of hybrid/electric vehicles. In order to ensure the long life of the motor and maximize its performance, the temperature of the electric motor also needs to be continuously monitored, operating as accurately as possible within the temperature range above 140℃. Therefore, it is also crucial to determine the temperature of the stator windings, which is the only way to make full use of the full advantages of the motor without the risk of overheating. In order to measure the temperature of the stator, it is also required that the sensor be easy to install and ensure that the sensor is free from mechanical pressure during installation and operation and has high dielectric strength, which prevents fly-arcs between the driver current circuit and the measuring current circuit. In addition, in practical applications, as batteries and drivers are also important safety components of hybrid/electric vehicles, the reliability and shock resistance of sensors are also required to be high, so it is necessary to provide the best comprehensive solution from the selection of electronic components, process and reliability verification.
