Application of NTC Temperature Sensor on Electrical Vehicle

On electric vehicles, temperature sensor is mainly used in battery management system(BMS). The battery management system can monitor the voltage, current and temperature of the battery to understand the condition of the battery detailedly and timely. At the same time, it can control charge and discharge balance,as well as charge and discharge control of a single battery unit to ensure the safe use of the battery and reduce the attenuation of the battery life.

The measurement of voltage and current is relatively simple, but the measurement of temperature is relatively complex. Different customers design and use different battery,and different batteries have different hot spots and different mechanical structures.Temperature sensor must be tight to heat object to be tested accurately.For the battery management system the temperature sensor design need to consider the speed and accurate of temperature measurement,it also need to consider the structure and installation to suit vehicles use conditions and good heat conduction of hot spots. By monitoring the temperature of the motor, the motor controller can adopt different control strategies to protect the entire power unit in different states.The internal structure of the motor is very compact, so miniaturization, high temperature requirements, resistance to severe electromagnetic interference and high reliability are the requirements for the motor sensor.
