Temperature sensors under the charging pile industry chain

Charging equipment is the most important supporting equipment for new energy vehicles. According to the charging speed and charging scale of power battery, the current electric vehicle charging methods mainly include: AC charging pile (slow charging), DC charging station (fast charging), battery replacement (change station) and wireless charging.

Four charging modes

1、AC charging post (slow charging): AC charging post (slow charging), simple but inefficient, mature technology, winning by volume, mainly for personal and family use of electric vehicles.

2、DC charging post (fast charging): DC charging post (fast charging), efficient but complex, suitable for professional operation. It is mostly equipped in centralized large, medium and small charging stations. Because of high supporting requirements, it needs to be equipped with harmonic compensation device.

3、Change station: The change station is widely used for commercial vehicles with uniform battery standards. The power exchange system consists of automatic power exchange robot, car positioning device, battery charging shelf, battery charging monitoring system, ground console and other departments.

4, wireless charging: wireless charging technology mainly includes electromagnetic induction type, radio wave type and magnetic field resonance type.

The basic principle is to use two mutual inductance coils installed on the ground and the chassis of the car body to generate excitation current through the coil on the input side and induct the coil on the output side to complete wireless charging. The current wireless charging technology requires the distance between the car and the ground equipment to be close, and the coils must be aligned to complete charging, and only one-to-one. At present, wireless charging is still in the experimental stage, and it will take some time to be widely put into the market.

Charging Piles

The charging pile consists of hardware and software.

(1) Hardware: Hardware mainly consists of general control unit, display unit, monitoring unit. The hardware facilities of the charging pile are divided into external and internal hardware, which are usually made of materials with weather resistance, temperature resistance, good flame retardant performance, excellent insulation performance and high electric trace resistance index, such as PET, ABS, nylon, etc.

External hardware: charging gun, charging cabinet, wiring cabinet, etc.; internal hardware: transformer, inverter, rectifier, relay, filter, etc.

(2) Software: The software system is composed of several modules, divided into main control module, IC identification module, human-computer interaction module, billing module and charging module, each module operates separately while interacting with information, and jointly realizes the charging of the car and the billing function of the user.

Charging Pile Industry Chain Mapping

China's new energy vehicle charging pile industry chain mainly consists of upstream equipment manufacturers, midstream charging pile operators and downstream new energy vehicle users:

Upstream participants are manufacturers of equipment needed to build charging piles; midstream participants are charging pile operators; and downstream of the industry chain are charging pile users, including new energy vehicle enterprises and individual consumers.

Associated with temperature sensors

Temperature sensors are one of the suppliers to the charging stake companies, and charging piles are customers of temperature sensors! "Temperature detection of charging guns, charging bases, charging piles and exchange stations are specific components of charging and exchange temperature management."

"To ensure safe temperature monitoring and to avoid overheating, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) stipulates that temperature sensors used in connector systems must meet the minimum requirements of IEC TS 62196-3 1 DIN standard. Therefore, temperature sensors must have reliable measurement accuracy.

DC/Supercharging is considered to be one of the key elements driving the development of electric vehicles, allowing them to travel longer journeys without having to stop for long periods of time to wait for charging With fast charging technology, charging times can be reduced by several hours to 15 to 30 minutes, depending on charging technology, battery chemistry and temperature. However, the ultra-short charging times require very high currents, which puts a lot of pressure on the power electronics in the charging station and makes thermal monitoring even more critical.
