Temperature sensors commonly used in printers/copiers

October 28 , 2022
The printing head of 3D printer has two heat transfer modes: heat conduction and heat convection. In the printing process, the solid printing material in the printing head is heated into a liquid cavity, and maintain molten state, with good viscous fluidity, suitable wire width and good bonding performance, so as to ensure the quality of the specimen, this is the heat conduction process. In order to make the printing process successfully completed, the specimen meets the standard, avoid heating cavity temperature is too low or too high, need to maintain constant temperature, and when the temperature is too high, need to open air to reduce the temperature, this is the heat convection process.
Temperature sensor is a device that converts the temperature signal sensed by the outside world into a useful electrical signal in the circuit. Temperature sensors include gold thermal resistors, thermocouples, etc.

The temperature sensor selected by the 3D printer depends on the material printed. At present, PVC, PBS, ABS and other materials are commonly used in 3D printing. The temperature of these polymer materials is 100~280 C after melting. From the perspective of temperature measurement range, the copper resistance is not satisfied, and the thermoelectric couple has a large temperature measurement range, but the measurement accuracy is not enough when considering the low temperature measurement. Therefore, platinum resistance is selected as the temperature control sensor of 3D printer printing head. Focus Sensing and Control Technology Co.,LTD focuses on the design, development and manufacturing of thermal and temperature sensor components. For printers/copiers, it is recommended to use film products and pipe products.
